Ski and Ride for the Cure is back at Mt Hood Skibowl as an annual fundraising challenge to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Children's Cancer Association in Portland. Participants of all ages and skills engage in friendly competition for awards and prizes in two categories: Top Fundraisers & Vertical Feet. Participants are challenged to log vertical feet for 24 hours. That’s right, we go all night long! Not only do you have a chance to make a difference while participating, you also can experience riding after the mountain closes and the sun sets and rises on beautiful Mt Hood. This year's event will also include a bunch of fun activities throughout the day, including a 5-card draw run, on-mountain scavenger hunt, costume contest, raffle, music, food, Kegs for a Cure, ski and snowboard demos, and more! The highlight of the event will be Saturday’s evening Torchlight Parade where skiers and boarders travel down the mountain carrying torches that illuminate the night. Each participant is challenged to raise $250 during the season and will be provided tools to create a custom fundraising web page designed to help set goals, acknowledge supporters and share their journey with donors and friends online. Hope on the Slopes is from March 7 - 8 at Mt. Hood Skibowl: 87000 E. Hwy. 26 in Government Camp. For details, go to skibowl.com.
