Farm Fest 2018
Saturday, April 7

It is the Largest plowing competition with draft animals on the West Coast with 20+ teams of draft horses and mules.  The Oregon Draft Horse Breeders Association co-sponsors the event and will manage the competition in both our North and South fields.  The entire Yamhill Valley Heritage Center campus will come alive with many activities. Vendors will be on hand with their wares.  Historical displays and demonstrations will be available for viewing including the Sawmill, Blacksmith Shop and Steam Engine.  The Plowman’s Café will be open with a wonderful assortment of food to give you energy to see all that the event has to offer.  Live music is scheduled throughout the day and plan on visiting the hand’s on Pioneer Kids’ activities that are sure to please.  Don’t miss it!  It will be held on Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center Museum: 11275 SW. The Portland Pancakes & Booze Art Show

As the nation's premier pop-up art show, The Pancakes & Booze Art Show provides art lovers an opportunity to explore more than 300 pieces of artwork created by some 75+ artists local to Portland's unparalleled art scene. Siuslaw Salmon Spawning Tour

This informative tour will get an up close and personal view of these incredible fish at the end of their journey upstream.  Participants will learn about the habitat requirements for the fall Chinook salmon and different conservation issues affecting their success while viewing spawning activity.  Following the viewing, participants are invited to take a hike to the old growth forest.  Whittaker Creek is part of the Siuslaw River watershed that drains water from the Coast Range to the Pacific Ocean.  The creek is a designated watchable wildlife site because it provides habitat of vital importance to anadromous fish species which include coho and chinook salmon, steelhead, cutthroat trout and other fish species.  Chinook and coho salmon, as well as steelhead trout can be observed in the fall and winter months spawning in the creek next to the campground.  The tour is on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Walton.  Visit www.mckenzieriver.org


Diwali: Festival of Lights in Portland

Diwali is India's biggest annual festival which celebrates the victory of good over evil, and light over darkness. Whiskey Bar will be decorated with LED candles & there will be a variety of Indian sweets for the early birds to enjoy while supplies last.  Come dressed in vibrant, colorful costumes in the spirit of celebration.
